The Victoria Cougars are pleased to announce that 1998-born Liam McCloskey has signed with the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
McCloskey posted an 8-3-0-0 record, a 3.07 goals against average, and a .899 save percentage last year in Victoria.
“I had no doubt Liam would make the jump,” Cougars head coach Suneil Karod said. “He has a great attitude, works hard, and is a very skilled goalie. Liam came to us last season and we knew he wouldn’t be here for very long.”
McCloskey joins a long list of players from last year’s team who either made the jump to Junior A or have gone on to play collegiate hockey.
The list includes Tyler Pang (Sherwood Park Crusaders), James Scott (Markham Royals), Tyler Vanuden (Brooks Bandits), Kenny Britton (University of Victoria), Anthony Ciurro (University of Arizona), Avery Hill (Grand Valley State University), Grayden Hohl (University of Central Oklahoma), Dom Kolbeins (Lindenwood University), and Branden Tangney (University of Colorado).
