GIANTS TRADE McKINSTRY TO CALGARY

Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Giants General Manager Glen Hanlon announced today that the Giants have traded 1998-born defenceman Ryely McKinstry (Calgary, AB) to the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.

 

Originally selected by the Giants in the second round (23rd Overall) in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft, McKinstry last played for the Giants during the 2015-16 season. In 11 games that season he netted one goal and one assist along with four penalty minutes. In 43 career WHL games (all with the Giants) he scored three goals while adding three assists and 17 penalty minutes. During the 2014-15 season he represented Team Canada in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

 

The Vancouver Giants return to action at home this weekend on Friday, September 29th when they welcome the Kamloops Blazers to town. Puck drop goes at 7:30 PM from the Langley Events Centre.
