Week 8 – BCFC Players of the Week

Offense –Receiver, Nate Anderson-Okanagan Sun

6 receptions for 131 yards and 2 TDS

Okanagan Sun receiver Nate Anderson went into this past weekend’s action in 5th spot in conference receiving and turned in another big day for the Sun when they needed it most.

In a game that saw the Sun offense struggle to find its rhythm against a stingy Kamloops Broncos defence, Anderson came through with a pair of touchdowns at the most critical of times for his club. His first TD reception from quarterback Keith Zyla late in the second quarter gave the Sun a 13-3 halftime lead, while his 4th quarter score rounded out the scoring and sealed the 20-10 victory.

Defense – Defensive Back, Jeremie Cheng-VI Raiders

5 tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 2 interceptions

VI Raiders defensive back Jeremie Cheng turned in his best performance of the season as the Raiders found themselves in a first half dog fight with the Valley Huskers. The Raiders trailed the visiting Huskers 20-18 and halftime before taking control in the second frame for a 44-27 win.

Special Teams-Returner, Brycen Mayo- VI Raiders

3 punt returns for 32 yards

2 kick returns for 66 yards

2 missed field goal returns for 66 yards

The Raiders Brycen Mayoh continues to lead the way in the BCFC as he is atop the leader board in punt return yards, kick-off return yards and missed field goal return yards. This is his second straight POW and 4th of the season.

Did we mention he went into the weekend 3rd in conference receiving yards and tops in touchdowns as well?
