Victoria Cougars come from behind to beat the Peninsula Panthers

NORTH SAANICH, B.C. – Matthew Sparrow scored a pair of goals as the Victoria Cougars came from behind to beat the Peninsula Panthers 5-2 on Monday night.

The Cougars reeled off four unanswered second period goals after Carson Cox of Peninsula had opened the scoring.

Carl Ewert, Jaden McNulty, and Sean Patten also scored for Victoria.

Also finding the back of the net for the Panthers was Josh Lingard.

Patrick Ostermann turned aside 15 shots for his fourth win of the young season.  Bryce Schiebel made 22 saves in a losing cause.

The Cougars finished 1-for-3 with the man advantage, went a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill, and scored a shorthanded goal.

Next game for Victoria is Friday, October 13 versus the Saanich Braves.  Game time at G.R. Pearkes Community Recreation Centre, located at 3100 Tillicum Road, is 6:30 p.m.
