Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team has traded right wing Luke Ormsby to the Everett Silvertips for a ninth-round selection in the 2018 Bantam Draft.
Ormsby played 11 games this season with the T-Birds but did not register a point. Last season Ormsby played in 65 games and had six goals and five assists for 11 points with 25 penalty minutes. He appeared in 13 playoff games on the T-Bird run to the 2017 WHL Championship and had one assist.
Ormsby, from Monroe, was originally selected by the T-Birds in the ninth round, 192nd overall, in the 2014 Bantam Draft.
The T-Birds are currently on a six-game road trip through the Central Division. They play the Edmonton Oil Kings tonight at 6pm and the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday at 6:30pm. The T-Birds have won three consecutive games and are 3-1-0-0 on the trip
