If there is one thing the majority of Canucks fans have been happy with to begin this season it is the effort on a nightly basis. Most fans would tell you that as long as the effort is there they will accept the result, as the Canucks are in the midst of a rebuild. The system Travis Green has employed has allowed the team to up the tempo and play an exciting brand of hockey. It is also a major reason for Vancouver’s surprising start. In Anaheim that tempo was slowed to a crawl and the Canucks were punished for it. There have been a lot of positives to open the season, but in Anaheim they were taught an important lesson. They simply do not have the talent to take nights off. If this team expects to remain competitive for a playoff spot, or competitive period, they have to be ready to go to work every night. If they don’t nights like the one in Anaheim will rear their ugly head more often then not. Let’s see how they respond in San Jose Saturday night.
