NCAA Hockey Broadcast Schedule Is Out

29

Always one of the best days of the hockey season is here again, the day the schedule of televised NCAA games comes out from College Hockey Inc. and TSN.

Across all of TSN’s five channels plus the TSN GO mobile service, there will be at least 60 NCAA games broadcast in Canada this season. It’s must-see for hockey fans as virtually every game will feature graduates of the BCHL. In addition to that, the NHL now sees more than 30 per cent of its players come from NCAA hockey so you’re sure to see future top talent in these games broadcast by TSN.

This year’s slate starts with a flourish as there are three games on the TSN schedule for Friday night, Nov. 17. It starts tonight on TSN5 with Harvard at Minnesota at 5 p.m. Pacific in a game that could feature as many as nine BCHL grads, including Chicago Blackhawks draft pick and Penticton Vees alum Jack Ramsey of Minnesota

Also on tonight starting at 6 p.m. on TSN3 is a heavyweight conference matchup as defending NCAA champs and No. 1-ranked Denver hosts No. 3 North Dakota. This game could see as many as 10 BCHL alums including Powell River Kings product Jarid Lukosevicius who’s scored a hat trick in last season’s NCAA title game.

Starting at 7 p.m. Pacific tonight is a meeting of the two newest NCAA programs, Penn State and Arizona State. This game could feature as many as five BCHL alumni including Penn State captain and Langley Rivermen alum James Robinson.

“Our comprehensive broadcast partnership with TSN will once again make it possible for NCAA hockey fans in Canada to follow their favorite teams and players throughout the season,” said College Hockey Inc. Executive Director Mike Snee. “Close to 30 per cent of NCAA players are Canadian, many of whom will be playing in the NHL in the future or representing Canada in the Olympics, World Juniors or other international tournaments.”

Another highlight on the schedule is the Friendship four tournament live from Belfast, Northern Ireland on Nov. 24 and 25. This event features Providence, Maine, RPI and Clarkson which combined have 21 BCHL alumni and 20 NHL draft picks. Providence has Chilliwack Chiefs alum Vincent Desharnais, an Edmonton Oilers draft pick and former Merritt Centennials forward Brandon Duhaime, a Minnesota Wild selection. RPI features Wenatchee Wild product Chase Perry, drafted by Detroit and Nanaimo Clippes alum Will Reilly who was selected by Pittsburgh in June.
