The Western Hockey League (WHL), in partnership with the Okanagan Hockey Group (OHG) and Sport Testing Inc. have announced the 2018 WHL Prospect Combine schedule, beginning March 24-25 in Winnipeg, Man.
Over the past four seasons, between the WHL Prospect Combines and the other WHL Combine initiatives, the program has tested over 10,000 players. Designed to assist minor hockey players with their skill development utilizing a state of the art testing system, the WHL Prospect Combines will consist of a full two-day camp which will include on and off-ice testing, on and off-ice development sessions, an informative presentation on the WHL, and an end of camp scrimmage.
These unique two-day events will utilize the WHL Combine Standard Tests, the same testing done at the Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in January. Test results will be entered into the exclusive WHL Prospect Combines database that is shared and used by WHL clubs to track and identify players.
Individual participants will receive additional benefit from the WHL Combine testing, including:
- Results Reports: individual and comparative results from the combine
- Progress Reports: track and compare your results and progress over time
- Access to WHL Database: compare results to over 10,000 athletes tested by WHL Combines
- Targeted Development: use the results to pinpoint areas of improvement, and target off-ice and on-ice training needs
The WHL Prospect Combines will be open to players born from 2000 to 2005.
