Cougars Top Peninsula Panthers


NORTH SAANICH, B.C. – Kyle Wade had two goals and two assists to lead the Victoria Cougars past the Peninsula Panthers 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Also scoring for Victoria was Matthew Berryman, Mateo Albinati, and Bryce Irwin.

Jack Taylor and Joe Stafford-Veale lit the lamp for the Panthers.

Getting the start in net for the Cougars was Connor McKillop who made 25 saves for his first win since beating Peninsula back on September 14.

Bryce Schiebel stopped 31 shots.

Both teams finished 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

The Panthers featured Ethan Brandwood in their lineup.  The 15-year-old defenseman was selected in the seventh round of the 2017 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft by the Kamloops Blazers.

Next game for Victoria is Thursday, November 30 versus the Nanaimo Buccaneers.  Game time at Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.
