Trinity Western’s men’s and women’s track and field teams got off to an impressive start in the first competition of the season, as four athletes cleared  unofficial personal best marks at the Spartan Pole Vault Challenge Saturday at the David E. Enarson Gymnasium.

On the women’s side, Madison Evans (Calgary) posted an eight-centimetre personal best, clearing 3.90m. She cleared 3.82m, when she finished fifth at last year’s U SPORTS Championships.

On the men’s side, Maxime Léveillé (Shefford, Que) earned a clearance of 4.70m, which unofficially bettered his previous best of 4.65m.

First-year Dominic Luccock (Delta, B.C.) also posted a personal best of 4.00m. Chris Weiss (West Vancouver, B.C.) equaled his personal best of 4.30m.
