The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has acquired signed goaltender Joel Grzybowski (1999) from the Saskatoon Blades for signed netminder Hunter Arps (1999).
A native of Hafford, SK, Grzybowski has split this season between the Blades and the Battleford North Stars of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. In six games with Saskatoon, Grzybowski posted a 4.31 goals against average (GAA) and a 0.841 save percentage (SV%). The 5-10, 172 goaltender has played in three games with Battleford where he has recorded three wins, a 2.32 GAA and a 0.915 SV%.
Last season, Grzybowski helped the North Stars capture the SJHL Championship as he registered a 21-4-1-0 record to go along with a 1.66 GAA, 0.935 SV% and six shutouts.
Grzybowski was drafted by the Blades in Round 11, 223rd overall, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
Arps, a product of Pleasantdale, SK, started this season with the Melfort Mustangs of the SJHL. The 6-3, 160 lb goaltender has recorded a GAA of 2.66, a SV% of 0.903 and one shutout in 10 games with the Mustangs.
Victoria originally acquired Arps from the Brandon Wheat Kings in September of this year.
Arps was originally drafted by the Wheat Kings in Round 5, 109th overall, at the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
