LANGLEY, BC— It was a better effort for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s basketball team. Sadly, the result was the same as the ‘Pack are still searching for their first victory of 2018.
The Pack were swept on the road this weekend by the Trinity Western University Spartans. The Spartans won on Saturday (Jan 27) 76-67 for their franchise high 14th victory of the year.
After a strong start to the Canada West season, the ‘Pack have dipped to 7-11 with two games to play in the regular campaign.
The Spartans were up 24-16 after the first quarter and entered the halftime break up 44-33 as they had 15 points from Tessa Ratzlaff.
TRU came out strong to start the second half and narrowed the deficit to six (59-53), thanks to 10 points from Michelle Bos (4th year, guard, Surrey, BC). She had only four points in the first half. Bos added three rebounds in that third period.
Bos was the leading scorer for the WolfPack with 16 points while Shenise Sigsworth (5th year, forward, Kamloops, BC) added 14.
Ratzlaff had 28 points to pace Trinity Western. Kayla Gordon added 17.
