The Eves of Destruction have been officially accepted into the Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Association (WFTDA), the most elite women’s roller derby association in the world.

The Eves are one of three Canadian teams to make the cut, joining Prince George’s Rated PG Roller Derby League and the Saskatoon Roller Derby League along with 15 other leagues from around the world.

League President The Wife of Wrath says she is ecstatic about the news:

“This is the culmination of many years of hard work by members in our league. I’m so proud of what we’ve built in Victoria and can’t wait to see where we can go from here. I’m excited to bring even higher level competitive roller derby to our amazing fans in Victoria and to send our skaters further out into the derby universe. The fact that this accomplishment coincides with two of our skaters attending the Roller Derby World Cup is just icing on the cake”

The league spent last season as an apprentice member of the WFTDA, working hard to meet the requirements to be accepted into the league, such as securing a sponsor league, which was the Northwest Derby Company of Washington State, and showing they were a professional, well-run organization.
