COLWOOD, B.C. – Jordan Spandli made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season as the Westshore Wolves blanked the Victoria Cougars 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Westshore goals came from Cameron Coutre and Trevor Bottomley early in the second and third periods respectively.

The 19-year-old Coutre leads the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League with 26 goals.

Despite the loss, Victoria remains three points behind the South Island Division leading Saanich Braves who dropped a 5-2 decision to the Campbell River Storm.

Both the Cougars and Saanich have six games remaining in the regular season.

Patrick Ostermann stopped 26 shots for Victoria, who was held scoreless for the third time and has lost three out of its last four.

The Cougars power play finished 0-for-5 while Westshore went 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

Next game for Victoria is Thursday, February 1 versus the Kerry Park Islanders.  Game time at Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.
