Victoria Cougars Can’t Weather The Storm


CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Pearce Messer had one goal and two assists to help the Campbell River Storm beat the Victoria Cougars 5-1 on Friday night.

The game was played before 762 fans at Rod Brind’Amour Arena.

Also scoring for Campbell River were Mitch Stapley, Kyle Kaufmann, Brett Kinley, and Jalen Price.

In net for the Storm was Liam Murphy who turned aside 33 shots.

Campbell River enjoyed period leads of 1-0 and 3-0.

Mateo Albinati replied for the Cougars while Patrick Ostermann and Nate Reinhart combined for 28 saves.

Next game for Victoria is Monday, February 12 versus the Peninsula Panthers.  Game time at Panorama Recreation Centre, located at 1885 Forest Park Drive, is 1:00 p.m.
