Peters (5’11”, 190) spent the past two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos appearing in 19 games recording 59 defensive stops and eight more on special teams.

Lions add free agent defensive tackle Euclid Cummings
Euclid Cummings has signed a 2018 contract with the team.
Spending the 2017 season with the Edmonton Eskimos recording 21 defensive stops and eight sacks, Cummings enters his fifth CFL season in 2018. The Georgia Tech product began his career with the Toronto Argonauts in 2014 and played two seasons with the Double Blue before moving to Winnipeg in 2016. Through 53 games he’s tallied 62 tackles and 19 sacks.
“Euclid is a young, up-and-coming lineman who definitely has the ability and potential to be one of most dominant interior players in the league,” said GM Ed Hervey. “He’s equally skilled at playing the run and getting to the quarterback and never takes a play off.”
Lions ink former UBC defenders Mitch Barnett and Dominique Termansen
Mitch Barnett and national defensive back Dominique Termansen have signed 2018 contracts with the team.
A homecoming for both players as the former UBC Thunderbirds return to BC to play for their hometown club.
Barnett (6’1”, 212), son of former Lions defensive back Bruce Barnett, began his CFL career as a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after being selected in the seventh round of the 2016 CFL Draft. He appeared in 29 games over the past two seasons tallying 10 special teams stops and a pair of defensive tackles.
Termansen (5’11”, 175) was originally a free agent signing by the Montreal Alouettes in 2016. The North Vancouver native played in 27 games for Als recording five special teams tackles, four defensive stops and an interception.
“Mitch and Dominique help improve our Canadian depth and have demonstrated the ability to play starting positions on defence,” said GM Ed Hervey. “They love the physicality of their positions and they’ll make us notably better on special teams.”
Lions land free agent offensive lineman Jeremy Lewis
Offensive lineman Jeremy Lewis has signed a 2018 contract with the team.
Lewis enters his fifth CFL season in 2018 after spending last year with the Montreal Alouettes and the three previous campaigns with Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The former Miami Hurricane tackle has appeared in 42 regular season games over past four seasons.
“Jeremy is another experienced and physical offensive tackle who brings an edge to the position,” said GM Ed Hervey. “He’s going to give us some needed depth and will absolutely compete for a starting spot in camp.”

International free agent offensive tackle Joel Figueroa (pronounced Jo-el) has signed a contract with the team.
Originally entering the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2013, the University of Miami grad spent the past two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos. Set to enter his sixth pro season, Figueroa (6’6”, 320) has appeared in 44 regular season games, eight playoff tilts as well as a pair of Grey Cup title games.
“Joel brings a level of physicality and the kind of gritty attitude that we need to add to our offensive line,” said GM Ed Hervey. “He’s absolutely committed to doing everything it takes to protect the quarterback.”
