Kamloops, BC – After months of early mornings and indoor training, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball team are escaping the cold weather as they head to Phoenix, Arizona tomorrow for their Spring Training. The trip this year is 12 days long as they leave tomorrow (Feb 13th) and will return on February 24th.

Since November, they’ve been training hard for this trip and the upcoming season by practicing twice a day, including starting at 5:30 am most mornings. They’re looking forward to getting outside and playing again, as they haven’t been outside since the fall.

“This trip is an opportunity for us to show what this team can do,” says newcomer Cole Paquin, “we’ve all been grinding throughout the winter to improve ourselves for the season and now we finally get the opportunity to display our talents against the some of top teams in Arizona.”

“The trip is very important for team bonding. It really allows the guys to get to know one another on and off the field,” says fourth year Taylor Van Ham, “this gives everyone a chance to earn their spot and can make or break certain players. This trip also gives us an idea of our talent and where we stand with some of the best junior colleges.”
