VICTORIA – Fresh off picking up an important victory, the UVic Vikes men’s rugby team will be trying to make it two wins in a row when they host one of the top teams in the league, Burnaby Lake, at Wallace Field on Saturday, Feb. 17.
Scheduled for 2:30 p.m., the match up will see the 4-9 Vikes take on 10-4 Burnaby Lake. UVic currently sits in eighth-place in the conference, where they are ten points back of James Bay who hold the sixth and final playoff spot. Burnaby Lake are further up the table, comfortably situated in third-place.
The Vikes lost the reverse fixture that took place in Burnaby on Nov. 25. Third-year Vike Gradyn Bowd scored all of the team’s points in a 29-12 loss.

James O’Neill scored three tries and Oliver Nott added two as the Vikes rolled to a 52-24 victory over the Nanaimo Hornets the last time they were in action. The team scored 35 points in the second half to pull away from a resilient Hornets squad.
Burnaby Lake took on the second-place UBC Old Boys Ravens last weekend and were bested 14-10 in a tight contest.
