The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 2-1 on Friday night in Kamloops.

Dillon Dube(26) got the Rockets on the board first on the power play 4:15 into the opening frame. Montana Onyebuchi(4) evened things up just before the 7:00 mark and the game remained locked at 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Midway through the middle period Dube got his second of the evening setting himself a new career in goals at 27 and the Rockets held a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes.

Despite a late push from the Blazers the Rockets held on for a 2-1 win.

Dube recorded two goals while Captain Cal Foote added two assists. Leif Mattson and Kyle Topping also added an assist each.

Liam Kindree made his return to the Rockets lineup after missing the previous 20 games with a lower body injury.

Brodan Salmond’s record improves to 8-8-0-1 after stopping 28 of the 29 shots he faced. Kamloops outshot Kelowna 29-27.

Kelowna’s record improves to 35-18-4-1.
