Streaking Skater – Matthew Phillips scored the first goal of the night for Victoria and stretched his point streak to 20 games. Over his franchise record setting streak, Phillips has registered 37 points (16g-21a).
Red Deer Returnees – The Royals had a pair of former Rebels take part in tonight’s game. Defenceman Jared Freadrich played for Red Deer last season and tallied 30 points (6g-24a) in 64 games, while Lane Zablocki spent parts of two seasons (2016-18) with the Rebels and earned 48 points (28g-20a) in 62 contests.
Blueline Production – With a goal and an assist tonight, blueliner Kade Jensen continued to surpass his early season point total with the Brandon Wheat Kings. In the 22 games since he joined Victoria in early December Jensen has nine points (4g-5a), compared to five points (2g-3a) in 25 games with the Wheat Kings at the start of 2017-18.
