The Canadian Paralympic Team will be hoping to hit the 20-medal mark at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games on Saturday with Canadians competing for places on the podium in wheelchair curling, Para alpine skiing, and cross-country skiing.

  • Canada’s male Para alpine skiers will wrap up their Paralympic Games on Saturday with the running of the slalom race starting at 9:30 a.m. local time/8:30 p.m. Friday ET. Each racer will get two runs down the slope for a combined time. Mac Marcoux and guide Jack Leitch will be looking for a third medal in PyeongChang. Medallists Kurt Oatway and Alexis Guimond will also be in action, with the team rounded out by Alex Cairns, Braydon Luscombe, and Kirk Schornstein.
  • Canada’s wheelchair curlers will be fighting for a bronze medal at 9:35 a.m. local time/8:35 p.m. Friday ET. After a very narrow loss to China in the semifinals, Canada will need to win to secure a medal. Canada lost to the Koreans 7-5 in the round-robin stage earlier this week after a slow start but will be looking to turn it around to claim bronze. Canada has yet to go home empty-handed in wheelchair curling Paralympic action, with three gold medals to its name in 2006, 2010, and 2014.
  • In cross-country skiing, the men will be racing 10KM (standing and visually impaired) and 7.5KM (sitting) while the women will compete in 7.5KM (standing and visually impaired) and 5KM (sitting) events. Competition commences at 10 a.m. local time/9 p.m. Friday ET. Brian McKeever will be looking to claim a third medal here at these Games – he already has two gold medals with guides Graham Nishikawa and Russell Kennedy. Among the other athletes in contention are Friday’s biathlon medallists Mark Arendz and Brittany Hudak, who will also be back on course again as they stay on the hunt for more hardware.
