Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Brad Morrison has been named WHL On the Run Player of the Week for the week ending March 25, 2018.

Morrison registered eight points (3G-5A) and a plus-four rating in two games as the Lethbridge Hurricanes jumped out to a 2-0 lead in their first round series against the Red Deer Rebels in the 2018 WHL Playoffs.

Opening up the series at home in southern Alberta Friday, Morrison tallied a goal and an assist as the Hurricanes won by a 6-0 score. He scored Lethbridge’s third goal of the game while at even strength and had a primary assist on his team’s fourth goal of the game.

Saturday, Morrison had a career-best performance, tallying a pair of goals and six points in the Hurricanes’ 8-3 win over the Rebels for the two-to-nothing advantage in the series. Morrison scored Lethbridge’s fourth and eighth goals in the game, recording the first playoff game-winning goal of his WHL career. He also picked up a pair of primary assists and a pair of secondary assists, recording one while short-handed and three on the power play. For his efforts Saturday, Morrison was named the first star of the game and the first star of the night across the WHL.

With his performance over the weekend, the 6-foot-0, 171-pound product of Prince George, B.C. now has 19 points (6G-13A) in 13 career WHL Playoff games. Through the first four days of action in the 2018 WHL Playoffs, Morrison leads the league in assists and points while sitting in a five-way tie for fourth in goal scoring.

Originally selected by his hometown Prince George Cougars seventh overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft, Morrison recently completed the regular season portion of his WHL career, tallying 263 points (112G-151A) in 334 games. He had 30 power-play goals and 17 game-winning goals as part of those figures.

Morrison and the Hurricanes will be looking to extend their advantage when the series shifts north for game three on Tuesday, March 27 (7:00 p.m. MT) at the Exmax Centrium.
