Heat add 10 of the best recruits from BC and Alberta

Looking to make a mark in the Pacific Division of Canada West women’s soccer Craig Smith, the UBC Okanagan head coach and Carli Tingstad, assistant coach with Smith for both his years at the helm, have worked tirelessly these past few months to bring in 10 of the best recruits from BC and Alberta.

“We are excited to bring in such a talented group of footballers and look forward to be able to work with them both as people first and as athletes second,” comments Smith and Tingstad.

“With the departure of a handful of seniors from last year’s roster this incoming group will fill the gaps and be a foundation for years to come. With the incoming group we have found a great balance of defense, midfield and attacking threat. All of these recruits have been identified to fit academically and are already a great fit with our returning players looking to move the program forward.”

Looking at the incoming group the Heat will welcome six players from the lower mainland, two from the interior of BC and two from Calgary, Alberta. Positionally there are four midfielders, three defenders, two keepers, and one forward looking to make their mark on the roster this fall.
