Mariners acquire MiLB RHP Edwin Quezada from Arizona organization


ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners have acquired right-handed pitcher Edwin Quezada from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for an international slot.


Quezada, 21, pitched in the Dominican Summer League in 2017, posting a 1.74 ERA (8 ER, 41.1 IP) in 15 games, including 3 starts. Quezada struck out 46 in 41.1 innings pitched while walking only 17 and limited opposing hitters to a .205 batting average against.


The 6-foot-5, 205-pound right-hander is a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
