Both the Tier 1 Jr. B and the Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks took to the floor at the Q Centre today and both came out on the losing end against the visiting Coquitlam Adanacs.


In the matinee game, the Tier 1 Shamrocks jumped out to en early 3-1 first period lead, but saw the Adanacs respond with the teams tied 7-7 after 40 minutes and the visitors outscoring the home squad 5-2 in the final frame to take a 12-9 victory.  It was the first loss and ties the Shamrocks’ record at 1-1 early in the season.  Patrick Dodds led the Rocks’ offense with 3 goals and 3 helpers.  Casey Wilson had 2 goals and 3 helpers.  The Rocks are on the road in Richmond Sunday and return to the Q Centre next Saturday at 1:00 to face the Delta Islanders.


The Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks fell behind 3-1 in the first and never recovered, dropping a 9-7 decision.  Skyler Wilson had a hat trick in a losing cause with Braylon Lumb adding 2 goals and 2 assists.  The Shamrocks are expecting to get reinforcements in the coming days in the form of players returning from NCAA commitments.  They are on the road Sunday and are back on the floor at the Q Centre this Tuesday, May 8 as they take on their island rivals, the Nanaimo Timbermen.  That game is a 7:30 pm start.
