Five teams to compete for Canada’s National Junior A Championship in B.C.

CHILLIWACK, B.C. – The Chilliwack Chiefs will welcome four Canadian Junior A regional champions to the 2018 RBC Cup, Canada’s National Junior A Championship, set for May 12-20 in Chilliwack, B.C.

 

The Chiefs and four regional representatives – Ottawa Jr. Senators (East), Steinbach Pistons (West), Wellington Dukes (Central), and Wenatchee Wild (Pacific) – will go head-to-head for the national title at the 4,851-seat Prospera Centre.

 

RBC Cup action begins Saturday, May 12, at 2 p.m. PT when the Wellington Dukes take on the Ottawa Jr. Senators. The opening ceremonies will officially kick off the tournament prior to the start of the 7 p.m. PT game between the host Chiefs and Wenatchee Wild.

 

“After months of hard work and preparation from our community, we could not be more excited to welcome the teams and fans to the 2018 RBC Cup,” said Chief David Jimmie, co-chair of the local host committee. “With five great teams set to compete for a national championship and a variety of ticket options available, fans have an amazing opportunity to witness the highest level of Junior A hockey in the country.”
