Victoria’s top up-and-coming roller derby players will be on display Saturday night (May 19th) at the Archie Browning Arena, as the Eves’ junior team the Rotten Apples take on the visiting Tempest from Saltspring Island and the Eves’ developmental team the Hard Cores face the Aftershocks Roller Rebels of Washington State.

As Rotten Apples coach Yvetta Vendetta explains, it will be an opportunity to witness the strongest junior team the Eves have ever had:

“The Apples have really come together this year, and after a couple confidence-building wins, they have built a strong, supportive team that’s ready to play hard and win.”

It will be the first game for Salem Misfit, who has already proven to be a strong blocker for the team.

Following the junior bout, the Eves’ Hard Cores will take to the track for their match against the Aftershocks Roller Rebels. Hard Cores Captain Amelia Pound says fans can expect some hard hits from our mix of rookie and experienced skaters:

“This will be the Hard Cores first home game of the season, and it’ll be the very first home game for many on the team. We are so excited to tear up the track from our home fans! We haven’t played the Aftershocks yet this season and are looking forward to meeting them out on the track.”

Tickets for the next double header event of 2018 are currently available online at Ticket Rocket for $10 in advance before Saturday. Fans can purchase tickets at the door for $15. Doors are at 5pm, first whistle at 5:30.

All 2018 events are family friendly (kids under 10 are free!), include a beer garden, halftime events, vendor village and TWO games full of hard hitting action!
