Seattle Mariners announced that outfielder Eric Filia is the player to be named later from the April 23 trade with the Boston Red Sox. The Mariners acquired left-handed pitcher Roenis Elias from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for Filia.
Filia, 25, began the season with Double-A Arkansas on May 30. He recorded 5 multi-hit contest in 13 games with the Travelers, batting .426 (23×54) with 10 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 home run, 14 RBI and 9 walks. Filia was originally selected by Seattle out of UCLA in the 20th round of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft. In 3 minor league seasons with the Mariners, he hit .343 (272×792) with 117 runs scored, 50 doubles, 6 triples, 10 home runs, 119 RBI, 114 walks and 19 stolen bases.
