Tier 1 and Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks Win

It was a good day for both Jr. Shamrock teams, each winning at home Saturday.  In the early game, the Tier 1 Shamrocks beat the Maple Ridge Burrards 18-7.  Leading Victoria’s offense was their leading scorer, Patrick Dodds with 2 goals and 6 assists.  Liam Phillips had the hat trick and one helper while Casey Wilson, Isaac Swan, Denton Macdonald, and Garrett Wicks each had a pair of goals.  The Shamrocks sit atop the standings with just one game remaining in the regular season, that being a return match against the Burrards next Saturday.

In the Jr. ‘A’ contest, Victoria handled the Langley Thunder handily, defeating them 17-6.  League-leading scorer Braylon Lumb led the way with 5 goals and 2 assists.  Marshal King added 3 goals and 3 assists while Brad McCulley and Jake Campbell each added a pair.  The Jr. ‘A’ Rocks are on the road Monday to take on the Delta Islanders and return to the Q Centre next Saturday, July 7 for their final regular season home game against the New Westminster Salmonbellies at 4:00 pm.  They finish the season on the road Sunday, July 8 against the league-leading Coquitlam Adanacs.
