Greater Victoria roller derby fans, new and old, will be treated to two bouts Saturday night (August 11th), as the hometown teams the Hard Cores and the A-Team take the track in our Exhibition double header against the Brass Knuckle Derby Dames and Grave Danger from Seattle, WA. This admission by donation event showcases derby of all levels and is perfect for fans who are new to the sport.

The first game, starting at 5:30pm, marks the debut of 4 new Hard Core skaters – Annie Liebo-Whips, Veronica D. Vile, Just Dana, and Jammie Dodger. This game also features the return of Shove Bug, who is playing their first game since incurring a significant ankle injury last season. The Hard Cores took the win against BKDD the last time they met and the team from the Cowichan Valley will be looking for a win this weekend.

The second game at 7:30pm features the A-Team, whose roster includes the top talented skaters from the league. The A-Team met Grave Danger on the road in Seattle in the pre-season and fell 271-166 at Shoreline, WA’s The Rat’s Nest Sports Club. The A-Team will be looking for redemption in their last game of the season!

Admission for the August 11th Exhibition double header is by donation.

All the action takes place at Esquimalt’s Archie Browning Arena. The event is family friendly (kids under 10 are free!), and includes a beer garden, half-time contest, 50-50 draw and a vendor village. Doors open at 5, first whistle is at 5:30.
