September 1, 2018 Langford, BC ( ISN ) – Langford 7’s kicked of their sixth annual Sevens tourney at Westhills Stadium in Langford Saturday morning.
They day-long event will feature a 15-team field of Men’s, U19 Girls and U19 Boys squads packed with talent including the BC NextGen Sevens team that recently claimed the championship title at the Vancouver Rugby Festival title.

Not to be over shadowed, BC NextGen is expected to be tested once again by Bayside Fiji Blonde would fall to NextGen in the VRF championship final last March by a 19-17 margin.
In an opening trifecta of matches, the Girls U19 Division Westshore would run up a 23-0 score against a James Bay side before the gritty Blues side would steal a couple of Westshore balls late to make it a respectable 23-14 narrow loss.

U19 Girls Castaway Wanderers would soundly defeat the Thunder 33-0 to put a mark in the win column with their round robin victory.

In Men’s action, BC NextGen looking like they started where they left off in March, would run away with a 32-5 win over a James Bay squad coached by Canada Sevens Alumni and current James Bay XV’s head coach Sean White.

The tournament goes on all day with more exciting Sevens action. Finals begin at 4:40 pm after consolation matches.
