Pacific Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Josh Bender as the club’s Executive Vice President, Sales and Business Development, whose NHL executive experience is the perfect fit to help grow Pacific FC.

“This is a key hire for us and we are very fortunate to have secured Josh as a key member of our leadership group,” said Rob Friend, CEO, Pacific FC. “Our goal with this addition was to get things right the first time and bring in someone who can build the right relationships for Pacific FC straight out of the gate. Josh Bender is that guy. He has a proven track record, which is hugely impressive, and he will add invaluable experience to our growing team on the Island.”

Bender previously worked with the Los Angeles Kings, where he doubled the club’s season ticket base, built a new loyalty program and helped the organization record 120 consecutive sellout games at STAPLES Center. The BC native has also worked with the Vancouver Canucks and returns to his home province to work closely with partners and supporters and amplify the club’s brand and ticketing initiatives.

“It’s the next step in my career,” Bender said. “I’ve never done anything like this before, coming into a new league or brand new team. For me, the draw of that challenge was strong. I am thrilled to come back to my home province and be a part of an amazing experience.”

Pacific FC kicks off in the inaugural 2019 Canadian Premier League season in April of 2019, alongside York 9 FC, HFX Wanderers FC, Forge FC, Valour FC, Cavalry FC, and FC Edmonton. The club will play its matches at Westhills Stadium.
