The BCFC announces it’s players of the week for week 5!
Brandon Poulin / REC / Valley Huskers
7 receptions for 156 yards
The air show that has evolved in Chilliwack continued Saturday night in the Huskers dominating 49-25 win over the Broncos in Kamloops.
Winnipeger and former Manitoba Bison Brandon Poulin had another stellar outing this past weekend, in fact his best one so far to contribute to the Huskers 4th win of the season. Going into the game he sat second in receiving yardage, trailing only teammate Anthony Dyck in the BCFC. To add to an outstanding evening, he also chipped in 79 yards on 2 kick returns.
Just a note to teammates Poulin and Dyck…after Poulins efforts on the weekend he is now ahead of Dyck in BCFC receiving by 9 yards. #itson
Tyler Going / LB / Okanagan Sun
8 tackles / 2 assisted tackles / 1 batted ball
The Okanagan Sun was in a dogfight with a tough Langley Rams team Saturday and while the Sun was on the wrong end of a 20-18 score it wasn’t for lack of effort of the stingy Sun defence that gave up just one touchdown on the night.
Tyler Going was around the ball all night if he wasn’t making the tackle himself, which he usually was.
Jake Firlotte / Returner / Langley Rams
The Langley Rams came away with a thrilling 20-18 road win over the hometown Okanagan Sun Saturday night. The club was solid in all three phases of the game, which it needed to be to come out on top but the most exciting play and a huge momentum shifter came via linebacker Jake Firlotte.
With less than 2 minutes to play in the opening half and the Rams leading by a 3-1 score, Firlotte took a Sun punt 82 yards to the end zone giving his team some breathing room and huge momentum to begin the 3rd quarter
