Victoria Cougars Back In The Win Column

The Cougars ended their two game losing streak last night at the expense of the Panthers. It wasn’t a pretty game, but a win is a win. It looked like the start of the game had the Cougars gripping their sticks a little tight. The team is young and still learning the Cougars systems, so the outlook is still bright.

Mateo Albinati once again was the star of the show collecting 3 more points to have 14 points in 5 games and still leading the league in scoring. Booker Chacalias also had a 3 point game to leap up the league scoring race at 8 points.

The Cougars Power Play looked good again, although they weren’t able to keep the + 50% PP stat alive and only went 1for4 to sit at exactly 50% through 5 games. Victoria has by far the most successful PP so far this season with 11 goals in 5 games.

Game two goes tonight at Panorama Rec, 730pm puck drop.
