The Saanich Braves defeated the Westshore Wolves 7-5 Friday night. It was an exciting game as it seemed that both teams were going back and forth, goal after goal, but in the end it resulted in a Braves win.
The first period was close back and forth both teams went. It wasn’t until 9:49 that the Wolves were able to find the back of the net. (Keegan Durrance scored and it was assisted by Parker Ellis and Chris Morris). It wasn’t long after, that Kyle Mace would score for the Braves making it a tie game.
Second period was met with a handful of goals the Braves scored three unanswered goals making it a 4-1 game. Pushes, checking and cheap shots all over the place the game sure made the game a lot more physical. 12:33 into the second period the Jarret Malloch scored for the wolves making it a 4-2 game, the Braves would answer by Ryan Strange scoring making it 5-2, The Wolves then made it 5-4 from two goals from Chase O’Keefe and Keegan Durrance.
It wasn’t until 6:18 into the third period that the Westshore Wolves would tie the game making it 5-5. The Braves would then go on to score the final two goals from Zach Guerra and Gavin Grewal making it 7-5. Overall the Braves managed to pull through correcting their flaws from their last game. The Saanich Braves no how a record of 6-0-1, the question is how long can the Braves maintain a good record.
