Day 2 of the PACWEST golf championship in Nanaimo saw more of the same from the leaderboard on both the women’s and men’s side.

Alex Foston of the VIU Mariners continues to lead the women’s leaderboard with a two-round total of 162 following her 83 on Saturday. PACWEST Player of the Year Samantha Copeland of the UBC Okanagan Heat also shot an 83 on Saturday but remains a single stroke back of Foston.

Sitting in third place is McKenna Lesiuk of the Heat with a two-round total of 170. She’s two strokes up on teammate Rebecca Reitsma in the battle for bronze.

On the team leaderboard the Heat hold a two-stroke lead over the Mariners 333-335.

On the men’s side Daniel Campbell of the UFV Cascades shot a 69 on Saturday and has a two-round total of 137 heading into Sunday’s final round. Teammate Kyle Claggett caught fire on Saturday also shooting a 69, six strokes better than his Friday round. Claggett is seven strokes back of Campbell and is three strokes ahead of Mike Felgel of the Camosun Chargers and PACWEST Player of the Year Wyatt Brook of the VIU Mariners who each have a total of 147.

As a team the Cascades have continued their hot shooting and hold an incredible 24 stroke lead over the Chargers and 34 stroke lead over the Heat.

Following Sunday’s round the PACWEST medals will be awarded to the winners.
