Hard Cores roller derby

In a second-half push, the Hard Cores came from behind to win over the Aftershocks Roller Rebels of Marysville, WA, 207-176.

The October 13th game concludes a season of roller derby that was marked by significant roster changes for the Hard Cores, which introduced fans to new skaters at almost every bout, including rookie skater Lucipurr who made her debut this weekend. The Hard Cores finish the season with a  3-2 record.

Hard Cores Co-Captain, Amelia Pound, says:

“The Hard Cores have had a great season. All of our players have worked hard all year, especially our newest rookies who joined us in June. We’re now going to enjoy our off-season and continue working hard to get ready for 2019.”

MVP’s for the game were awarded to reGretel for blocking and Margaret Smackwood for jamming.

When asked how they pulled off the win, MVP blocker, reGretel says:

“We took our time learning our opponents in the first half, keeping the score close. We took advantage of team endurance and a switch of plays to pull ahead in the second half. The Hard Cores played a cohesive game and enjoyed every hit along the way. We look forward to more match ups next year!”
