Keys from the Bear Cave:
The Grizzlies will be taking on an old foe in the Powell River Kings tonight, 1 key to victory that both teams will have to work on is keeping emotions in check. There is a lot of history between these 2 teams, especially from last years playoff round, so making sure plays a clean, physical game, without taking any penalties.
Players To Watch
While he may have fallen behind his younger brother Alex in points in the early season, Charlie Campbell has been playing very well since coming to the BCHL but has fallen under the radar a little bit. His passing skills can make any player he’s on the ice with a scoring threat and the chemistry he has been able to create with not just his brother, but the entire team makes him a key piece to the team this year.
The one they call “Berg” has had an excellent start to the season. He is the Grizzlies highest scoring defenceman with 12 points in 15 games. He is on pace to have the best season he’s had in the league. He has a booming shot and is a threat to score from the blue line at any point during the game.
Darwin Lakoduk has had one of those starts where you have to look past stats and look at his actual play on the ice to see how talented he is. Right now, he only has 2 assists and no goals, however he has seen limited ice time. The 2017/2018 VIJHL Rookie of The Year has had some great moments on the Grizzlies 4th line with Eddie Yan and Jake Veilleux, if he keeps working hard and playing the right way of hockey, hes ice time will start to increase.
