The Victoria Cougars defeated the Kerry Park Islanders 4-3 on Friday night. The Cougars collected their 10th win of the season, Which expanded their win streak to 4 wins in a row.
The Cougars were hungry as they looked for their 10th win of the season. But it was not long until the Islanders would score, only 16 seconds into the first period as Islander’s Isaac Leik would score an early one that would be the only goal for the remainder of the period. The Second period came as the Cougars were ready, they scored on the powerplay (making the game 1-1) as Booker Chacalias would put up his first point of the game. The Cougar’s top scorer and the leagues’ top scorer Mateo Albinati would go on to score his 12th goal of the season (making it 2-1 for the Cougars), his goal was assisted by defenseman Jack Hanrahan and Booker Chacalias (2nd point of the game). Jaden McNulty would then go on to score 19:39 into the first period make the game 3-1 for the Cougars.
The third period would come along as the Cougar’s Marshall Brown would score from Jack Hanrahan and Booker Chacalias, giving Chacalias his third point and Hanrahan his second of the night. The Kerry Park Islanders would then go on to score two more in halfway stages of the third period but that didn’t prove enough as the Victoria Cougars held them off for their 10th win of the season.
