The Victoria Cougars defeated the Peninsula Panthers 4-1 Thursday night. The game was a full one as always whenever a close team visits. The first period was relatively close as neither team was able to capitalize. A big part to the Cougars success was their goalie, Cam Stevenson was outstanding. The Panthers were able to get a lot of opportunities to score and Stevenson was there to stop them all.

The second period was dominated by the Cougars as they were able to maintain position in the offensive zone. Things got physical as clearly, both teams did not like each other. Penalty after penalty it wasn’t until the last minute of the third that Spencer Golden would pick up his 3rd goal of the season.

The Third period is where things got out of hand. The Cougars were sitting at a comfortable 2-0 lead after Mateo Albinati scored his 14th goal of the season. The Panthers were able to knock in the rebound making it a 2-1 game. The Cougars then scored 2 unanswered goals making it 4-1. This is where all the fights began frustrated players mouthing off at the Cougar players and such. The game ended with a bunch of players being sent off.
