Chargers women’s basketball split November 1 & 2 openers and jump to a #12 CCAA National Ranking

The Chargers women are 1-1 following the first week of PACWEST competition where they fell 75-54 to the VIU Mariners in Thursday’s home opener and rebounded to collect their first win of the season the following night against the Okanagan College Coyotes, 81-61. Following the split, the Chargers jump to a #12 CCAA National Ranking!

 

Third-year forward Jasmine de Vries (Bachelor of Sport Management) led the charge for Camosun posting her first double-double of the season in Friday’s victory over OC with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Fourth-year guard Tessa Lannon-Paakspuu (Bachelor of Sport & Fitness Leadership) also produced a double-double in the fight against the Coyotes contributing 13 points and 11 assists.

This weekend, the Chargers head to the Mainland to take on the Douglas College Royals (1-1) and the Capilano University Blues (2-0).
