VAN ISLE – The final day of Canadian Premier League (CPL) Got Game Open Trials did not disappoint, as trialists embarked on a full day of matches on November 6 at the University of Victoria. An original group of 226 was narrowed down to a final group of 34, who were invited back for one last afternoon scrimmage as they fought to earn an invitation from a CPL club.

While no specific details were provided regarding player invitations, coaches—including Pacific Football Club’s Michael Silberbauer—alluded to interest being shown to a number of trialists.

“It’s still early in the process but I think some of the kids here have deserved to get a call for preseason,” Silberbauer said to CPL’s Kurt Larson during an interview on Tuesday. “I do think a couple of them could come in and we can see them in our environment.”
