Chargers first-year guard Chloe Scaber tallied an impressive weekend total of 32 points.

The Camosun Chargers Women’s Basketball team made a massive effort on the November 9 and 10 weekend but were edged out by their Mainland hosts, falling to the Douglas College Royals (68-55) and the Capilano University Blues (79-70) to sit sixth in the PACWEST at 1-3.

Despite the slip in the standings, first-year Camosun guard Chloe Scaber from Claremont Secondary (Arts & Science) made a bold statement on her first road trip with the Chargers, posting a weekend total of 32 points (18 on Friday and 14 on Saturday). Third-year forward Mia Roberts (AD Arts) chipped in with 14 points in the contest against Douglas while second-year guard Aiden Kilcommons (Enviromental Tech) matched Scaber’s high of 14 in Saturday’s battle with the Blues.

“Chloe is doing great for us right now,” states Camosun Head Coach Cait Haggarty. “She is playing with a ton of heart and there’s no doubt she’s opening some eyes!”

The Chargers enjoy a weekend at home before closing the first half of the season as Camosun hosts the Columbia Bible College Bearcats and Langara Falcons at PISE.

“I think both CBC and Langara will give us good games this weekend,” comments Coach Haggarty. “We will need to be our best in order to compete with them.”
