The Esquimalt Dockers defeated Reynolds High school 59-56 on Tuesday night. The action packed game offered all you could ask for as Esquimalt was looking to perform well in front of their own crowd.
The first quarter was dominated by Reynolds as they were able to get the basketball possession converting most of the time, Esquimalt had a tough time getting things going as they went on a 4-10 run. Both teams battled hard but at the end of the quarter Reynolds was up 17-11. Esquimalt came out in the second quarter hoping to gain the lead. The second quarter was another action packed half as Esquimalt was able to come away leading in this back and forth game, taking the lead into the third quarter. Now playing with a small lead Esquimalt came out strong proving to match step for step with a strong Reynolds side.
Reynolds on the other hand had other plans, they were hoping to spoil Esquimalt’s party and pushed back regaining the lead once again.
Reynolds was able to gain a 10 point lead going into the fourth. Esquimalt fought hard as they knew they had to gain back momentum in the fourth quarter with the crowd behind them they did just that.
Esquimalt fought hard picking up the win. Their season record is at a promising 2-0 and they’re hoping to make 3-0 when they take on Royal bay.
