Prince Albert Raiders goaltender Ian Scott has signed his three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The signing was announced by the Maple Leafs on Friday afternoon.
Scott was drafted by the Maple Leafs in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft. The Calgary product is having a career year with the Raiders, posting a 23-2-0-1 record to go along with a 1.61 goals-against average, a 0.943 save percentage, and four shutouts. Scott also has contributed offensively this season, registering a goal and an assist.
The 19-year-old spent time with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies at the end of the 2017-18 season, making his professional debut by making 30 saves in a 4-3 win over the Belleville Senators on April 15, 2018. Scott remained with the Marlies for the duration of their run to the 2018 Calder Cup championship.
Scott is currently attending Hockey Canada’s selection camp in Victoria for this year’s World Junior Championships.
