Canada Snowboard, Alpine Canada, Freestyle Canada and The Canadian Ski Council are pleased to announce the fifth-annual National Ski & Snowboard Day will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 and Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019. National Ski & Snowboard Day unites Canadians from coast-to-coast, celebrating the power of winter snow sports, its accessibility to Canadians, and our majestic playgrounds by providing skiers and snowboarders with specially discounted lift passes on these two days. Proceeds from lift ticket sales will be provided to Canada’s ski and snowboard athletes.
Special offers and experiences are available at each participating ski area, with more than 80 ski area partners offering discounted passes on National Ski & Snowboard Day. Canada’s ski and snowboard federations have partnered to offer discounted lift tickets and onsite guest experiences, encouraging Canadians to get outside and explore the beauty of skiing and snowboarding, which are deeply rooted Canadian sports. “National Ski & Snowboard Day is a fantastic opportunity to encourage Canadians of all ages to get a great deal on lift tickets and head out to their favourite resort, all while helping to support our National team”, said Dustin Heise, Executive Director at Canada Snowboard. “We are incredibly grateful for the support of our resort partners, the Canadian Ski Council, and to have the opportunity to go out and ride with our friends at Freestyle Canada & Alpine Canada”.
“Alpine Canada is a proud partner of National Ski & Snowboard Day alongside our colleagues at the Canadian Ski Council, Freestyle Canada, and Canada Snowboard,” said Vania Grandi, President and CEO of Alpine Canada. “This annual campaign allows us all to come together as a nation to celebrate our natural winter playground, the training ground for Canada’s elite snow sport athletes. It’s amazing to see how many resorts have joined in this initiative, and we invite all Canadians to join us on the slopes next month and help support our national team athletes while enjoying some of the best ski areas Canada has to offer.”
“National Ski & Snowboard Day benefits Canadian ski and snowboard athletes, with participating resorts across Canada donating proceeds from the two days’ online ticket sales back in support of these athletes’ journeys. It’s a great day for Canadians to get out an enjoy a day outside and Canada’s beautiful ski areas”, states Paul Pinchbeck, President & CEO, Canadian Ski Council.
