The Victoria Royals scored the game’s opening three goals as the club earned a 4-1 victory over the Kamloops Blazers on Friday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
With tonight’s victory, the Royals improve to 14-2-0-0 at home against the Blazers since the 2015-16 season. It also marks their eighth consecutive win against Kamloops on home ice.
Royals’ forward Alex Bolshakov made his WHL debut against the Kamloops Blazers. The Seattle, WA native was drafted by the Royals in the fourth round, 69th overall, in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.
Currently, Royals’ forward Kaid Oliver is riding a six-game point streak. Over this time frame, Oliver has tallied seven points (3g-4a).
The Kamloops Blazers have three players on their roster that call the island home. Defenceman Sean Strange is from Saanich, while goaltenders Dylan Garand and Dylan Ferguson grew up in Victoria and Lantzville respectively.
