February 4th, 2019 Victoria, BC (ISN) – Saturday in BC Rugby Union action the UBCOB Ravens visited Wallace Field at the University of Victoria to take on the Premier Reserve and Premier UVic sides, taking away split victories in a pair of hard fought tests.
In the Premier Reserve match up the UVic Norsemen prevailed with a 38-24 win over the Ravens. The Norsemen would hold onto a 14-12 held time lead before wearing down the Raven late in the second half to runaway with the win.
The Men’s Premier test saw two evenly matched teams on paper fighting to climb higher in the standing from the fourth and fifth spots on the ladder. The Vikes, holding the fifth place in the standings, would fall 34-21 to the visiting side after after errors and turnovers would lead to the Ravens command the greater of ball possession in the match to claim the victory. With the win, The Ravens keep pressure on third place Burnaby Lakers, while the Vikes would hold a three point lead over Seattle with the loss.
