The Cougars came out flying in the first last night and had many chances early in the first period. Just after the TV timeout Marshall Brown who took a short pass from Tyler Vanuden on the left side of the Oceanside net eluded a hook, walked out front and shot the puck in just inside the right post to give the Cougars the first goal of the game. That was at 12:51 with the second assist going to Bryce Irwin. The Cougars kept the pressure on for the remainder of the period but no other goals were scored in the 1st. Shots were 12-4 in favor of the Cougars.

In the 2nd period, the Generals played with more urgency and play was pretty even. With 3:57 gone off the clock Aleko Karamanis pinched into the right corner and shot the puck in front of the Cougars goal. Parked out front was Ryan Ignace who knocked the puck out of the air and into the back of the net. The second assist went to Trey Boylan. Then it was the Cougars turn and Grady Birk poked the puck into the Generals zone past the defender. Chased it into the corner and turned to see Spencer Golden and fed him a pass to the left of the slot and a quick wrister and it was a 2-1 lead Cougars. The second assist was to Carl Ewert.

The teams went into the dressing rooms after the period with the Cougars leading 3-1 and Oceanside outshooting them 12-11 in the period.

Early in the third Grady Birk stole the puck in the Oceanside zone and from the left side of the net hit the left post. The puck bounced into the slot and Foster Martin made no mistake and gave the Cougars their first 3 goal lead of the series. There were chances back and forth for the rest of the period but no more scoring. The Cougars finished off the Generals 4 games to 1 with a 4-1 win. The teams shook hands and old friends were able to hug after all was done.

The Cougars will now wait for the outcome of the Storm vs Panthers Series. If Peninsula wins the Cougars will play them if CR wins the Cougars will then play the Nanaimo Buccaneers who defeated the Westshore Wolves 4 games to 1.
