Both Jr. Shamrocks teams took advantage of home floor Saturday to pick up wins, the Tier 1 Junior B squad defeating the visiting Delta Islanders 8-7 while the Jr. ‘A’ team handed the visiting Langley Thunder their first loss of the season by a 13-8 score.

 

During the matinee the Tier 1 Rocks trailed 3-2 after the first, held an 8-4 lead after 2 and withstood a 3-goal run by the Islanders to pull out the victory.  Logan Wright led the offense with a pair of goals with 6 players adding singles.  Adan Bland was outstanding in goal to pick up the win.  The Tier 1 Rocks are on the road Sunday to face the Delta Islanders and return to the Q Centre next Saturday, May 18 to host the Burnaby Lakers in a 1:00 pm start.

 

Meanwhile the Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks picked up their second win of the season to even their record at 2-2.  Brayden Brown made his presence felt with a 6-point night on 4 goals and 2 helpers.  Zach Manns also picked up 6 points on 2 goals and 4 assists.  Ben Preston and Denton McDonald each had 2 goals and 2 assists with Casey Wilson chipping in a goal and 4 assists.  Cameron Dunkerley got the win in goal.  The Shamrocks return to the Q Centre Sunday for a Mother’s Day encounter against the Delta Islanders at 5:00 pm.
